Doorway sends USDC from another chain to a live Kuru position on Monad, and then to your own wallet, with three signatures: approve, send, receive. Here is how, in plain words.

How it works
- Open the app and connect your wallet.
- Choose the amount, the chain you are sending from and what you want to end up with.
- Approve. Your wallet signs one approval that says exactly what Doorway may do for this one deposit and up to how much. Nothing is set up before you approve.
- Transfer. Your wallet sends the USDC from your chain. A funding service carries it to a smart account on Monad that your wallet owns.
- When the USDC arrives, Doorway simulates the exact purchase, then places the buy on Kuru. The asset lands in your smart account. You can follow every step on the deposit page.
- Receive. Your wallet signs once more to send what you bought from your smart account to your wallet. The page asks for it as soon as the position is live, and keeps a "Send to your wallet" button until it is done.
That is three signatures: approve, send, receive. You do not need MON for gas: Doorway pays it on Monad.
Chains and markets
You can send USDC from Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base or Solana. USDC is the only asset you send.
You can end up holding MON, WETH, cbBTC or XAUt0 bought on Kuru, or plain USDC in your account on Monad. The app reads the list of Kuru markets live and offers only the ones with enough sellers to fill a purchase safely, so a market can appear or disappear.
How long it takes
Usually 1 to 3 minutes from the moment you confirm the transfer, and sometimes up to 6. Most of that time is the funding service moving your USDC between chains. The purchase on Monad takes seconds after it arrives. If it takes longer than usual, the deposit page tells you so.
Fees
Doorway pays the gas on Monad for the steps it performs. You pay the network fee on the chain you send from, for example gas on Base or SOL on Solana.
Doorway charges no fee of its own today. The funding route has its own costs, which are inside the rate it gives. Before you approve, the app shows the minimum you will receive, and that figure already includes them. See the Terms of Use for the full statement.
Minimum amounts
The minimum is not one fixed number. Each Kuru market has its own smallest order, and Doorway works out the minimum deposit for the market you choose from that order and the current price. The amount button shows the minimum in dollars when your amount is below it, and the app explains the market's smallest order underneath. The minimum can change from day to day with the price.
If something goes wrong
Doorway stops instead of guessing. If a simulation fails, the key has expired, the price has moved below your minimum or the order book is too thin, nothing is bought and your USDC stays in the smart account that your wallet owns. Only your wallet can move it.
To get it back:
- Open the deposit page in Doorway. The app remembers your latest deposit in this browser.
- When the USDC has arrived but did not become a position, the page shows a panel called "Refund / Withdraw to Wallet" with a button that reads "Withdraw" and the amount.
- Press it and confirm in your wallet. The USDC goes to the wallet you connected. Doorway pays the gas.
Refunds
If the funding service cannot deliver your USDC to Monad, a refund depends on the route. The NEAR Intents route is set to return the money to the wallet you sent it from. The Aurora Intents route does not promise a refund. Doorway cannot refund a transfer that a provider has not returned, and cannot reverse a transaction once it is confirmed.
Security
- No custody. Your funds sit in a smart account on Monad that your own wallet owns. Doorway holds no key that can move them out.
- A narrow key. To place the purchase, Doorway uses a temporary key that you approve. It can call exactly one function, the market buy on the Kuru market you chose. That function has no recipient, so the key cannot send funds to anyone.
- Capped and short-lived. The key is created for one deposit, is limited to that deposit's amount, and expires within 24 hours.
- Gas is sponsored, and the key has no allowance to spend MON.
- Fail closed. If anything is unclear, Doorway holds your USDC in your account and stops.
A compromised Doorway server could still choose a poor minimum for the buy. The loss that can cause is limited to that one deposit's amount.
